Just an unusual bird… or a sign?

Well first off, I live in Northern Las Vegas….

Well anyway, so late last night I was walking my dog. It was like 12:30 in the morning. Well we get to the park, and I was looking up at the sky. Suddenly, I was startled by this figure right over the roof top of a house right next to the park… I had no idea what it was at first.. and just watching a freaky episode of Fringe earlier, I was kind of freaked out. But then it came into good site and it was like a gift from heaven. Just purely breath-taking. It was this large, long beautiful, pure white bird of some sort. I can’t describe what it was though. It reminded me of a swan. But we’re talking about Las Vegas, in the middle of a desert…. So I wondered, what is it? Could it be some sort of sign from god, from heaven… who knows? It was cold last night too.. Really windy earlier, but when I was outside at that time, the wind really died down.

I’d love to hear some opinions about what the type of bird it might be, or if you think it was a sign, good or bad?

Okay, if you’re going to ask the scientists and mathematicians, it’s just a bird. =)

It could have been a crane that lives on a nearby golfcourse. I have seen cranes at Legacy before.

Yes, it was hella windy yesterday wasn’t it? I live in San Francisco, I was watching Fringe last night too and it was a really freaky episode. The bird that comes to mind for me is a hawk or a falcon. If you see them from underneath, they can be white and only brown and black on top. Or maybe it was a white owl? They can get really big.

From reading this link, it looks like they can live in the desert and the males are pure white, the females have the black scalloping on them.

I do think that sometimes the spirit world sends us signs through animals. Here are a couple of links on the spiritual significance of the Owl.

Owls are wise animals and they are nocturnal. Maybe you have some kind of gift and maybe you are more in tune with spiritual things at night? That is just a guess, I think you will come to your own personal truth after checking out the different sites.

A crane is a better guess. :) You can look up Cranes on these sites too.

Sounds like an Owl. Nothing out of the ordinary for an owl to be out at night. I see them all the time and I live in a desert. Probably the reflection of the moon made it so enchanting.

In myth there is a magical white bird that lived with a farmer and a evil wife. The wife didn’t like the bird so she scared him away. Sooner the man went looking for the bird and found it twenty years later at a desert, he was guided to two boxes a big one and a small one. He chose the small one and was given Rubies and other rarities. When he returned to tell his wife the good news she threw them away. She went off to find the bird once again. She was mad that the man chose the small box instead of the big box. The bird warned her about the big box that it contained evils beyond dreams. The only reason the bird let the man choose was because he was wise, whilst the women was not. The women didn’t care she scared the bird off and opened the big box. Inside a larger bird, most likely the evil mother of the bird, awoken. She scared off the women and the bird. Obviously in myth. The man telling the story said, ‘It was a sign from Hell. Some choices in life can affect the whole world, and more importantly your own life’ he said it much confidently, like a parent would to a child. I think in a way, it was a sign of darkness.
But in common sense its a bird you saw, but it might have a connection to myth.
Follow what you want, something evil is happening or its just a bird in a desert.
